Wow oh Wow

ok so its been a very long weekend...first off the wonderfully cross-eyed baby has not come back :(

BUT...a new kitten took his place. We found yet another stray, only this one was very very little and very skinny (yep it had worms)

We named him Midnight...we were very prepared to keep him...but well spoiled mama hated him...

As many of you know Mama is very sick and any stress can send her into seizures and she gets very lathargic refusing to eat or play with us...so after 1 long night we took the kitten to the valleys SPCA...here in Cali you are not allowed to adopt out black cats/kittens during the month of October to ensure their safety, so the vet tech there was kind of glad because it would give them a chance to fatten him up and get rid of the worms...

It was pretty sad to take him in, we tried all the no kill shelters but none would take a black cat (they said people just don't adopt black cats) we tried family and friends...nothing...and releasing him into the world again was not an option because he had no natural instinct to fight...he would curl up in a ball for my dogs and Mama just scared the shit out of him...so we did what we had to do to ensure his safety and health as well as mamas and we needed to get him out fast before any of us fell any harder for this little man...

This weekend was Kens nephew Bradeons birthday party...they did the bounce water slide and had a whole army type theme going on...it was alot of fun...then on Sunday we watched the NASCAR race (man my poor waltrip got hit hard and flipped) and then we did yard work...

Friday night we went shopping...we got Ashleys halloween costume $40 and then went to Target to get a shirt to go under it and all the little make-up stuff, she has a reaction to face paints so we just did regular make-up and we got books for Brado's present. I always give books, maybe its the teacher in me, or the mama in me who always cherished Ashley reading to me in my lap and I want to share that with others...but now the kids know to expect it and love it lol...

Tomorrow Ashleys class is having a field trip to the Fresno Fair and she is very excited...we have the fair every year and its huge here, like 40k a day go to it, I have never taken her just because its not always a safe place to be...we have a huge gang problem here as well as other things and I just didn't want her to see any of that, but since its a school trip to see the animals and all the ag stuff I am ok with it, I am also a chaperone (I am always a chaperone) so if she gets to nervous I will be there...

I am not to sure Ken and I are going to take her because it costs so darn much...8 to get in per person...10 to park...then eating...and all the damn games at 3-7 bucks each...just adds up so fast and with christmas so close we will really have to budget...

growing up I always got to go to the fair for my birthday as October is my birthday month...I always felt I got cheated lol cause I was not big on it all but David was and so I always saw it as my present going to him lol, I was a goof.

Well I am going to lay down and catch a small nap before Ash gets home at 12...take care all and...

Happy Birthday Jan :o)

what a sweet kitty and what a hard decision to make :(
I wonder why people won't adopt black cats? because of the superstition?
